Ann lives in a beautiful village in the south of England where she runs her own
teaching practise, specialising in electronic keyboard, piano, music theatre,
theory, recorder and GCSE Music. She trained as a baroque recorder player,
and studied with Edgar Hunt, Carl Dolmetch and Walter Bergmann. She has
been teaching for over 38 years, and was one of the first teachers in the UK to be
trained by Yamaha Kemble when they introduced their Electone Music courses in
the 1980s. She became a regional instructor for Yamaha, training teachers
across the country, as well as running her own Yamaha Music School.
Ann has been examining for the London College of Music for over 10 years, and
has been privileged to work with students across the world. It is always an
honour to listen to the candidates, and to share their love of music. She helped
to prepare the latest LCM keyboard syllabus, and wrote the first LCM Keyboard
Ensemble Book. She has delivered various seminars to teachers around the UK,
and is very keen to promote and encourage ensemble playing.
In her spare time, Ann is a very keen gardener, and enjoys walking around the
beautiful countryside in which she lives. She has two sons, both musicians! The
eldest, Alex, recently got married, and the attached photo shows Ann in her
finery for the day!
